There's a ford dealership/service centre on my drive home so I popped in yesterday but could only speak to a receptionist who wasn't so clued up - I asked how much roughly she would think it would cost and obviously it's not a cheap repair, particularly with labour, assuming that it is indeed as simple as the dpf.

Expand. I see from your other post that you're looking at a 2.0 diesel, cambelt is due at 10 years or 125,000 miles (whichever comes first). I just had my 2.2 diesel done at a Ford dealer for £600. That includes cambelt, rollers, tensioner, water pump, antifreeze and auxiliary belt (also due at 10 years).

Spray ALL the bolts with PD Blaster to loosen the bolts, also spray the join where it attached to the rear pipe that connects to the muffler.
